Let's go, lesbians

I haven't embroidered for several years, and this work wasn't easy for me. on the one hand, there was a lack of skill: the threads got tangled and tightened into knots, i even ran out of one color in the middle of the embroidery. on the other hand, there were my own fears and doubts that my idea was too simple, that I would not succeed, that patches of other participants would be more beautiful. It took a lot of courage, but I didn't give up halfway. infinitely pleased with myself :)) also, while working on embroidery, I used only things that were already in use. the canvas, needle and some threads were left over from school classes on technology; I thrifted other threads and scraps of fabric for the base layer. In this way, I turned what would otherwise be gathering dust in closets into a creative statement. 

This year, for the first time probably, I felt proud to be a lesbian. The events organized by Prismatica helped me honor my queer identity. I think it is very important for LGBT+ people to see each other in order to remember: we are normal, we are all right. Queers, let's be together!

я некалькі год не вышывала, і праца далася мне нялёгка. з аднаго боку, не хапала навыку: ніткі блыталіся і зацягваліся ў вузлы, адзін колер ўвогуле скончыўся пасярод вышыўкі. з іншага боку былі мае ўласныя страхі і сумненні, што мая задумка занадта простая, што ў мяне не атрымаецца, што ў астатніх удзель_ніц будзе прыгажэй. спатрэбілася шмат смеласці, але я не кінула ўсё на паўдарозе. бясконца задаволеная сабой :)) таксама, працуючы над вышыўкай, я карысталася толькі рэчамі, якія ўжо былі ва ўжыванні. канва, іголка і крыху нітак заставалася са школьных заняткаў па тэхналогіі; іншыя ніткі і абрэзак тканіны для падложкі купіла на куфары. такім чынам я ператварыла тое, што інакш бы пылілася ў шафах, у творчае выказванне.

у гэтым годзе я, напэўна, упершыню адчула гонар за тое, што я лесбіянка. імпрэзы, арганізаваныя прызматыкай, дапамаглі мне ўшанаваць сваю квір ідэнтычнасць. думаю, лгбт+ персонам вельмі важна бачыць адно аднога, каб памятаць: мы нармальныя, з намі ўсё так. квіры і квірухі, будзьма разам!
